Mastic Mystique, hands-on mastic harvest experience at the Mastic Museum
A hands-on demonstration of all the stages of mastic tree harvest in a real mastic grove.
During the demonstration you are encouraged to try using the traditional tools and techniques involved in the extraction and harvest of the precious mastic resin from the tree.

Μια παρουσίαση όλων των σταδίων της καλλιέργειας του μαστιχόδεντρου σε ένα πραγματικό χωράφι (μαστιχώνα).
Κατά τη διάρκεια της παρουσίασης σας ενθαρρύνουμε να χρησιμοποιήσετε τα παραδοσιακά εργαλεία και να εφαρμόσετε τις τεχνικές για εξαγωγή και συλλογή της πολύτιμης μαστίχας από το μαστιχόδεντρο.
ENGLISH
The meeting point for this tour is the ticket booth of the Mastic Museum near Pyrgi.
From there we walk in the mastic grove of the museum for a demonstration of all the steps in the mastic harvest. Our guests are encouraged to actively engage in the harvest practices. Depending on the level of that engagement, the duration of the tour may last between 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes.
After the hands-on demonstration we escort our guests to the entrance of the museum's permanent exhibition from where they continue self-guided to find-out about all the processes that follow the harvest.

Το σημείο συνάντησης είναι το εκδοτήριο εισιτηρίων του Μουσείου Μαστίχας.
Από εκεί θα περπατήσουμε μέσα στον μαστιχώνα του Μουσείου για μια παρουσίαση όλων των σταδίων της καλλιέργειας και συλλογής της μαστίχας. Στη διάρκεια της επίδειξης οι επισκέπτες μας ενθαρρύνονται να δοκιμάσουν τις καλλιεργητικές μεθόδους και πρακτικές. Ανάλογα με το βαθμό συμμετοχής, η διάρκεια της παρουσίασης μπορεί να είναι από 45 λεπτά έως 1 ώρα και 15 λεπτά.
Μετά την βιωματική επίδειξη της καλλιέργειας στον μαστιχώνα, θα σας συνοδεύσουμε στην είσοδο της μόνιμης έκθεσης του Μουσείου από όπου θα συνεχίσετε μόνοι σας για να ανακαλύψετε τι γίνεται μετά την συλλογή και πώς η μαστίχα συνδέεται με τον πολιτισμό της Χίου.
ENGLISH
- Museum entrance fee that should be purchased separately. For the current pricing policy visit the museum's web site. Standard ticket price is 8 Euros per person (discounts apply).
- Transportation to/from meeting location. Each participant is responsible for their transport to the meeting location.
- Picnic or any other offering of snacks, drinks, or beverages is not included.

- Στην τιμή δεν περιλαμβάνεται το εισιτήριο του μουσείου το οποίο πρέπει να το προμηθευτείτε στην είσοδο. Το κόστος του κανονικού εισιτηρίου είναι 8 ευρώ ενώ εφαρμόζονται εκπτώσεις για παιδιά και άλλες κατηγορίες δικαιούχων. Την τιμολογιακή πολιτική του Μουσείου Μαστίχας μπορείτε να την βρείτε εδώ.
- Δεν περιλαμβάνεται η μεταφορά από και προς το Μουσείο Μαστίχας.

Full refund is possible only if the programme doesn’t run through the organizers’ fault or if the organizer decides to cancel because of inappropriate weather conditions or if the minimum amount of participants is not met.
After the beginning of the event the fee is non refundable, even if the participant does not stay for the duration of the event for reasons that Masticulture is not responsible for (e.g. dizziness, headache, or generally if the participant is feeling unwell).
In cases of no show there is no refund.
50% of the payment will be refunded if cancellation is requested 3 days before the start of the activity.
